The Kariki Group of Companies was started in 2002 at the Kangaita farm, close to Nanyuki on the slopes of Mt Kenya. Subsequent expansions have led to the development of 3 additional farms in the Juja, Naivasha and Molo area which now cover a production area of approximately 130 ha of flowers solely for the export market. The Kariki Group of Companies comprises of 4 different flower growing farms with differing altitude and climatical spreads allowing the group to produce an assortment of different flowers for export from Kenya. Comprising of: Eryngium, Hypericum, Solidago, Astrantia, Ornithogalum and Hydrangea and Roses
This 20 hectare flower farm is located near Thika at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters and produces mainly Solidago Golden Glory and Hypericum Flair®
Kariki Farm is marketed by us under the name “KARIKI KR / MARGINPAR” and is ‘KFC Silver Label’ certified.
This 35 hectare flower farm is located in Nanyuki at an altitude of approximately 2,100 meters and produces Hypericum Flair®varieties, Eryngium Questar®varieties, Astrantia Star® varieties and high altitude roses. The roses are marketed under the name of “Mount Kenya Flowers”.

Hamwe Molo (Kudenga Farm)
This 30 hectare flower farm is located near Molo and with an altitude of 2,700 meters it currently is one of the highest flower farms in Kenya. Kudenga Farm produces top quality Eryngium Questar® varieties, Astrantia Star® varieties, Gypsophila Xlence, Ornithogalum and Hydrangea Lolly Pop

Hamwe Naivasha Farm
This 25 hectare flower farm is located along the Kinangop road in Naivasha at an altitude of 2,100 meters and produces mainly Hypericum Flair®varieties and is developing Phlox, Gypsophila and Delphinium
Hamwe Naivasha is marketed by us under the name: “KARIKI GF / MARGINPAR” and is ‘KFC Silver Label’ certified.

Bondeni Flowers produces flowers at a unique location on the slopes of the Kilimanjaro Mountain in Tanzania. This farm exclusively produces Clematis Amazing® vartieties. All flowers are exported through Kilimanjaro airport, which is only 30 minutes away from the farm.
Michiru Farm is located a little more to the west of Bondeni Flowers and also on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. This beautiful hidden gem of a flower farm produces Clematis Amazing® varieties and is developing commercial production of Gloriosa and Asclepias Heron King®
This 20 hectare farm is located near Moshi at an altitude of 1,300 meters and produces the unique flower Jatropha “Firecracker” as well as Chasmanthium grass, Polianthus Tuberosa and Clematis Amazing® Rome.
Blue Nile Flowers
This 25 hectare farm is located near Holetta at an altitude of 2,500 meters and produces Hypericum Fire Flair®, Eryngium Questar®varieties, Astrantia Star® varieties and Hydrangea Lolly Pop.
Blue Nile Flowers is ‘GlobalGap’ and ‘FFP’ and ‘MPS A certified’.
Located in the Eastern Highlands near Troutbeck at an altitude of 2,000 meters, this flower farm is specialised in the production of Astrantia Roma and Astrantia Star of Billion. Next to Astrantia, Tsanga Flora produces one of the finest Eryngium Questar® varieties the market has seen. Especially the Eryngium Supernova Qstar with the bright blue cone and green “tip” is an eye catcher.
Located in the Chimanimani Mountains at an altitude of 1,400 meters, this flower farm produces Eryngium Questar®varieties.
Partners in Breeding
H. & B.R. van den Bosch B.V.
One of the first breeders of Hypericum and developer of the Flair® series, H. & B.R. van den Bosch B.V. have been in partnership with Marginpar B.V. for more than 20 years. Together we introduced Hypericum in Africa and we were the first to supply Hypericum to the market out of season. Since then Hypericum has become one of the largest product groups in flowers.
Together with Maruwa, Marginpar has developed and commercialised a range of wonderful Eryngium varieties. These so called ‘Questar® varieties’ are the leading Eryngiums in the market.
J. van Zoest B.V.
Together with J. van Zoest, Marginpar has developed and commercialised a unique new cut flower Clematis. We were the first to introduce Clematis as a cut flower with year round supply. We will continue to commercialise new Clematis varieties within the ’Amazing®’ series.
R. de Jong
Relatively new as a Breeder, Ron de Jong has introduced some of the most beautiful Astrantia varieties. Together with De Jong Marginpar has introduced Star® varieties from Kenya and Ethiopia; “Star of Billion“, “Star of Fire“, Star of Treasure and “Star of Africa”.
